I've Been Busy

I made the following for a few different clients. They had very specific requests in mind.
I did my best to meet them. It was so much fun!

It's been a crazy summer and fall, now I turn around and Christmas is literally right around the corner! Who knew when Amanda, my hospice supervisor, had that small networking event my little journals would get notiiced. Well they did and I have been swamped for Christmas orders.
Now I know how Santa feels!
Here's some pictures of a few of my latest journals. Let me know what you think!

Technical Difficulties Grrrr!

Seems blog spot is not accepting uploads at the moment. So I will keep trying and will post as soon as I am able.

Once Again Life Interrupts...

After nursing my youngest daughter through a kidney stone and minor surgery and my oldest daughter through a wicked root canal and a quick trip back home to Vancouver to see my niece's first born son,Jacob, I'm finally back to some sense of normalcy.

I recently attended a networking event at the Hospice agency where I volunteer and I was fortunate enough to sell 11 of my journals!!

Here are a few of my more recent designs.

I'm thinking about using this for a journal cover. I really like the eye.....the rest of the hand, not so much.

It's Been Awhile

So this is a ghostly image of my daughter Hailey taken while we were staying in a historical part of Montreal. My daughter Jillian was the photographer. I sanded some of the photo to lighten it up a little, I mounted it on some handmade paper i made and behind that is a t-shirt dyed in coffee. From there it is mounted on heavy cardstock...black with grey running through it.

Well I've taken my trip to India with my sisters, had a fantastic time! Unfortunately I've been a bit under the weather since my return and haven't been creating much, and lost my muse for a while. But I think I'm back now. My favourite group..."Sketchbook Group" on yahoo is doing a new project...30 projects in 30 days. I will post some of my pieces here.

As always, thanks for stopping by.

Peace.

As most of you know I'm going to India with my sisters in 49 days!!. So over the weekend I made travel journals for us. Here's a look at one of them. I'm still so new at all of this, but I was pleased with how it turned out.

I altered this plain journal I picked up about 2 years ago and found the other day in a box of stuff I was going through. It was the first time I felt free to try anything. I think it looks "ok"

I felt a little bit bad leaving my cat out of the limelight. I was always a cat lover for years and years.I even described dogs as the ultimate "bad date". You know, all that unwanted enthusiasim, the licking, the "please love me eyes". But now I'm a convert and almost have to remember to pet my cat. So I thought I should make her,J.B. the test post. So here is a picture of J.B. and I on my birthday.

This is my first posting,my test drive so to speak. I have no idea how any of this is going to look. Let's hope for the best! I will try to include an entry from my sketchbook.
